The Federal Policy on Research Misconduct became effective Dec. 6, 2000. This policy on research misconduct includes a new definition of research misconduct issued by Office of Science and Technology Policy. The policy and definition (although not specific rules of procedure) are to be used by all government agencies that fund research.
