These instructions outline how to read and analyze cases for unit 8 of the "Genomics, Ethics, and Society" course.
Undergraduates: Read the case below and follow the directions at the end. You should think about how you will address this case with reference to (a) the undergraduate grading criteria (b) the model case study in Unit 1 and (c) the Ethics Assessment Process. Refer to material from across the course in order to support your arguments. Since this case study is longer and carries a higher proportion of the total grade for the course than the others, you must use at least 5 academic sources (these can be readings from across the course, or from the readings directly related to this case, or references you have located yourself.). You should write a maximum of 6 double spaced pages (not including references).
Graduates: Read the case below and follow the directions at the end. You should think about how you will address this case with reference to (a) the graduate grading criteria (b) the model case study in Unit 1 and (c) the Ethics Assessment Process. Refer to material from across the course in order to support your arguments. You should carry out some independent research and draw on what you read to build and substantiate your arguments. You should write a maximum of 6 double spaced pages, not including references.
